There’s arguably an abundance of iPad owners like myself who purchased the device with the intention of having it replace a laptop. In my case my iPad mini was the perfect lightweight portable computing companion replacing my laptop in every facet.
Well, every facet but one: the inability to use a mouse.
There are countless of iPad owners like myself whom had their hearts set on being able to use a mouse with their iPad. After Googling whether or not using a mouse with an iPad was possible I was stunned to see how many topics were started on the Apple Community Forums by people either: a) looking to find a way to use a mouse or, b) complaining about buying a mouse with their iPad which the device doesn’t support.
A couple day ago however I stumbled upon a Cydia tweak called BT Mouse and Trackpad which allows for Bluetooth mice or trackpads to work with any iPad.
Of course being a Cydia tweak for those of you without jailbroken devices this may be a good time to consider jailbreaking your device.
BT Mouse and Trackpad is available via the BigBoss repo for $4.98 and works with your iPad’s native Bluetooth functionality.
It’s as simple as buying, installing and pairing the mouse with your iPad. From there depending on how you use the mouse with your ipad the tweak allows for some great customizations features via Activator.
Side note: to scroll with a mouse: click, hold and scroll.
