Apple, caring deeply about the satisfaction of its iPhone customers, rolled out a fix for its awful Maps application to wild acclaim from commentators, who praised it as the best in the market... Or, not.
Actually, the real news is Google rolled out a Google Maps app for the iPhone today that does everything Apple should have done, but didn't.
I guess Apple maps proves everyone make mistakes.
However, one question that plagues my mind is why the hell Apple executives thought their maps application could compete with Google maps. Realistically the only way their app could come close to packign in what Google maps provides would be if Apple had been developing their own maps app for quite sometime. But, as we've come to either hate or love about Apple if they were developing such in the background then we could rest assured a leak would have surfaced long before the first write up (about 6 months from launch).
